When you book your physiotherapy assessment and ongoing treatments, you can rest assured that your time will be one to one with your treating therapist. Our physiotherapy therapy assessments and ongoing treatments, will involve assessing and re-assessing such things as your postural alignment, functional movement, strength, range of motion, and biomechanics in combination with your past medical history and current concerns, to gain a picture and better understanding as to where your symptoms may be coming from and how they may be interlinked. Your treatment will then be directed by this information in combination with your goals.
Your therapist will also ensure they take the time to educate and inform you of these findings.
To get you to your goals, your treatments will include, but would not be limited to such things as manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue release, strengthening, improving range of motion, performing functional strengthening, gait training and improving overall cardiovascular function. Additional modalities such as TENS, acupuncture and fascial release tools may also be utilized during your session. Because these are your sessions, we always encourage our clients that at any point during a session to ask questions or voice any concerns you may have and at anytime if you would not like to proceed with a treatment intervention to inform your therapist as such.
An additional, and very important, part of your treatment is your home exercise program. To get our clients to their goals in the shortest time, takes not just hard work, but team work! Ensuring follow through and repetition of specific exercises given is key to your success! Being open with your therapist about your availability and time to do exercises at home is something we greatly encourage. Continuing with the theme of team work, your therapist will also work with your other health care providers to ensure continuity of care.
